Privacy

In short
- You log in with Google or GitHub: we never see your password.
- Your talent profile is only visible to whoever you choose, and we never show your email.
- We don't sell data, there are no ads and we don't use tracking cookies.
- You can download your data or delete your account whenever you want, from My account.
Who is responsible
TechToJob. The owner's details are in the legal notice. For anything about your data, write to contacto@techtojob.com.
What data we store
- Your account: the name, email and photo Google or GitHub give us when you log in. They handle your password: we never see it.
- Where you live: the country and region (autonomous community, state or province) you enter the first time you sign in, to show you the offers you can do from there. You can change it in My account.
- Your Discord, if you link it: your id and username, whether you're in the TechToJob server and your roles there. We only ask for permission to identify you, not your messages or servers.
- Your talent profile, if you create one: what you write (headline, about me, stack, languages, links…) and the visibility you choose.
- Your projects, if you share them: what you write (name, description, technologies, links) and which ones you pin. They show up in Projects and on your profile, with the same visibility as your profile.
- Your portfolio, if you add it: the address, the sentence you write, the image your website offers for sharing and whether you ask for a Portfolio review (and, if it's reviewed, the date and video of the live stream).
- Your likes: which projects and portfolios you like and when. Others only see how many likes each project has, never who gave them.
- If you sign up as a recruiter: your role, your company, its website, your LinkedIn and anything you tell us, so staff can review your jobs. Your name, role and company show on the jobs you post.
- The jobs you post, if you do: what you write in the form and that you posted them. Staff see your name and email so they can review them.
- The reports you make: which profile, job, recruiter, project or portfolio you report and why. We don't tell them who reported them.
- Your sessions: when you logged in, the IP address and the browser, to keep you logged in and detect unusual access.
- The country you connect from (not stored): our provider (Cloudflare) tells us which country you're connecting from, to pick the site's language and show you the offers you can do from there. You can change it in the listing.
- If you're staff: which offers you've reviewed.
We don't ask for your CV, phone, address or payment details.
What we use them for
- Providing the service you ask for when you sign up (your account, your profile, browsing offers and talent). It's the basis of the terms of use (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
- Showing your profile to other people and companies, only with the visibility you choose. It's your consent, and you can withdraw it by hiding or deleting it (art. 6.1.a).
- Keeping the job board safe: sessions, reports and checking you're in the Discord. It's our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (art. 6.1.f).
Who else processes them
- Neon: the database, on servers in Frankfurt (European Union).
- Cloudflare: hosts and protects the website and counts visits anonymously (Cloudflare Web Analytics, no cookies or cross-site tracking). Its network is worldwide; data leaving the EU is covered by GDPR safeguards (standard contractual clauses).
- Google, GitHub and Discord: only when you log in or link your account with them.
Companies don't receive your data: they see your profile like any visitor, according to the visibility you choose. When you apply to an offer you go to the company's website, where their own privacy policy applies.
How long
- Your account and profile: until you delete them.
- Your projects, portfolio and likes: until you delete them; they're also deleted if you delete your profile or your account.
- Your sessions: they expire after 30 days without use.
- Reports: as long as they're needed for moderation; they're deleted if your account or the reported account is deleted.
- The jobs you post: those not yet reviewed are deleted if you delete your account; published ones stay on the board without your name.
Your rights
- See and take your data: “Download my data” in My account, in a file you can use elsewhere.
- Correct it: by editing your profile whenever you want.
- Delete it: “Delete my account” in My account. Everything is deleted, right away.
- Object to or restrict its use, and withdraw your consent: hide your profile or write to us.
If you think we're not handling your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es). Write to us first: we'll fix it.
